About Me

Hi! My name is Emily Hansen (she/her/hers), and I am an actress and singer based out of Southern California. I grew up in a town called Morgan Hill, just south of San Jose, California. I landed the role of a cow in the pre-show of my elementary school’s production of Dear, Edwina in the third grade, and have been hooked on theatre ever since. Despite many challenges faced in college, I am honored to be earning a BFA in musical theatre from the University of California, Irvine this spring (2022). I’m proud to say that I’m currently two years into my recovery from an eating disorder and much better because of it. After missing a year of college for treatment, I was able to come back as stronger, more confident person, ready to commit honestly and vulnerably to my craft. After graduation, I plan to pursue a dietetics degree, as well, in order to eventually become a registered dietitian for a residential treatment program for eating disorders. I hope to merge my love of theatre and passion for nutrition to contribute to a healthier environment for performers, encouraging body positivity and mental health awareness.

Outside of school, I enjoy playing with my dogs (especially my girl, Abby), spending time at Disneyland, going on silly adventures with my boyfriend, trying new coffee shops, and hanging out with my amazing friends and family (shout out to all of them!).
